Serenity

"Serenity is to surrender when you seek to source."-Ashmita Arora

Serenity makes you reflect on images of calm scenery, stillness, and peace. A very surfaced viewpoint. Serenity is not the absence of chaos, nor is it the stillness found in quietest of moments. It’s far more elusive than you’ve been led to believe. Serenity is an act of surrender, a surrender that takes you deeper into yourself, beyond the mind’s grasp, even beyond the need to control, to understand, to know. It’s the moment when you stop trying to fixate on changes and manipulate your reality rather you allow yourself the privilege of sinking deep into existence.

To seek serenity is to seek the source….the essence of all that is. But the more you seek it, the more it evades you. I cannot urge this enough serenity is not something to be attained, it’s something you allow to happen. It’s the stillness that arises not when you force calm, but when you let go of the need to create it. Naturally the mind races to try and categorize and contain serenity into something it can hold, viewing it as something to be possessed. True serenity slips through the mind’s fingers, unattainable. Its existence can be found in the space between thoughts, between moments, in the gap where the mind blanks and something deeper takes over.

When I speak of surrender, I’m not talking about giving up or relinquishing control in the usual sense. Surrender is about releasing the need to control in the first place. It’s recognizing that control itself is an illusion. The mind arrogantly believes it can shape reality, it can plan for every outcome, manage every detail, ensure some sort of “safety” by knowing what will happen next. But the mind is always playing catch-up, isn’t it? Life isn’t something you control, it’s something to be experienced. The more you try to control it, the further serenity will seem.

It’s that moment when you stop fighting the current and allow yourself to be swept downstream. This might seem terrifying to the mind, which craves certainty, but to the soul, it is the ultimate liberation. The moment you surrender is the moment you realize that the source, the divine, the universe, has always been guiding you. You were never truly in control.

Just as most of the population, you have probably been conditioned to believe that to feel safe, we need to know what’s coming. We need to plan, to predict, to understand. We live in a world that glorifies certainty. But certainty is the enemy of serenity. The more we cling to the need for certainty, the more anxious we become, because deep down, we know it’s unattainable. Life is inherently unpredictable, and no amount of planning or worrying can change that. Serenity comes when you stop fearing the unpredictability of life and start embracing it.

The act of surrendering to source is the most profound act of trust you can perform. It’s the realization and the acceptance that the universe is far more intelligent than your mind could ever be. The mind wants to break things down, analyze, and create frameworks to make sense of reality. But the source doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t conform to human logic or linear thinking. It exists in the space beyond, in the realm of the infinite, where everything is connected in ways we cannot see if we are viewing from ego. To surrender to the source is to trust that even though you cannot see the completed picture, each of the frames that create the picture is whole and perfect.

But surrender is terrifying to the mind. The mind equates surrender with defeat even more terrifying with the unknown. It believes that if it isn’t actively controlling the outcome, something will go wrong. But the mind is working with such a limited perspective. It can only see a small fraction of the whole, and from that fraction, it attempts to piece together a coherent narrative. A sure fail, why? Because the source of true intelligence is not operating from a place of limitation; it’s working from a place of infinite possibilities.

When we surrender to source, it’s not giving up control rather you’re handing control over to something far more intelligent than the mind could ever fathom. That’s where true serenity lies. It’s in the release. It’s in the recognition that you were never truly in control to begin with, and that’s not something to fear, that's something to be celebrated. Relinquishing control allows yourself to open up to the magic of life. You allow the source to work through you, in collaboration, to guide you in ways that the limited mind never could.

Reaching this level of Serenity allows you to engage with life fully, from a place of trust rather than fear. It’s about facing each moment, each challenge, with the knowledge that no matter what happens, you are divinely supported by the universe. Even in moments of despair the source is always working in your favor and Serenity is the embodiment of that trust.

The more you surrender, the more you’ll come to realize that the source isn’t something outside of you. It’s not some external force separate from you guiding you from afar. The source is within you. It’s been there all along. You are the source. You are the very one you’ve been waiting for. This epiphany hits and the need to seek dissolves.

Now, you are no longer reacting to life, you are responding to it from a place of stillness. You move through the world with fluidity, not because life has become easier, but because you’ve put the gloves down. You’ve surrendered to the flow, and in that surrender, you’ve found your strength. Congratulations, you're harnessing the ultimate power, the power to be unshaken in the face of uncertainty, to trust in the unknown, and to know deep down that you are always exactly where you need to be.
